In the last post I looked closer at Nitramine from Myokem. Before that, I posted a Super NOS Pump review, a review of Animal Pump from Universal, a review of Flight from Bare Performance Nutrition and a Pre Jym Review. In today's postI will cover the details of another PWO - this time it will be Razon 8 Blast from AllMax.

Razor 8 is listed as having 10 calories per servings and 2g of carbohydrates. No fat or protein content.

This is quite the list, but fortunately many of the compounds are familiar to most. Some of the listed ingredients aren’t so much ingredients as effects, things like “Endothelial Expansion, Hemodynamic Volumizer.” In these cases, it is likely a proprietary formula being used which the manufacturer does not wish to disclose the exact contents. Therefore we can’t consider Razor 8 to be a completely transparent product – although extensive ingredient information is provided, there are still proprietary blends inside of it.

Lets take a look at some of the most important and also some of the most obscure items on this list.

Nitrosigine: A compound consisitng of silicate, inositol and arginie. Formulated to improve cardiovascular function and promote pumping via nitric oxide synthesis. Tested in per-clinical studies and demonstrated some efficacy. Nitrosigine is a trade name, not a part of chemical nomenclature.

Hordenine: Scientifically untested in humans, Hordenine is sold as a central nervous system stimulant and has been claimed to enhance metabolism.

Agmatine Sulfate: Agmatine Sulfate is a known and effective vasodilator. It is an effective pumping agent and used in many supplement blends. It has the ability to lower insulin and also potentially reduce post-workout recovery time. It has also been studied as a nootropic.

Verdict

In Razor 8 Blast Powder we find several tried and true compounds with various vasodilators and stimulants among them. There can be little doubt that Razor 8 will provide users with both energy and pump and get a workout going. However, the huge ingredient list can be a double edged sword: if you believe in the efficacy of the ingredients and Razor 8, you’re likely to believe a world of good comes from them. If you are a skeptic, however, each item on the list is another questionable candidate.

And there is definitely some merit to this skepticism, which should be kept in mind whenever we encounter a proprietary formula as the ones hidden within Razor 8 Blast Powder.

But this is certainly a way to get many of the most commonly used and recommended substances into a single pre-workout package of stimulants, vasodilators, and proven aids like creatine. Interestingly, several per-clincal studies (arranged by the products manufacturer) have shown results from using Razor 8 Blast Powder. If these studies are valid, the implications are intriguing and the supplement world may see much more of the compounds in Razor 8.
