[wpsm_titlebox title=”Verdict” style=”3″]Verdict: the best weight gainer on the market. A tried an tested alternative with the perfect combination of proteins, carbs and fats for bodybuilders from a very trusted brand.
Optimum nutrition continue rank as the number one manufacturer of protein powder and weight gainers in this space. If you are looking for the best weight gainer, Pro Complex is what you need[/wpsm_titlebox]

Are you looking for the best weight gainer? Then you have come to the right place. Here in this article, I have listed several different weight gainers, which have the highest ranking on BodyBuilding.com and SupplementReviews.com. I have posted my own notes about each and every one of them, along with a comparison chart at the bottom of this post so you easily can get a visual overview and find the details you are looking for. This site will continuously be updated with new weight gainers as they hit the market. If you have a specific weigh gainer you would like to see listed here, please send me an email and I will make sure to get it on the list.

I am old school when it comes to bodybuilding. There are constantly new products released, most of them with new and hyped ingredients, promising fast and crazy gains. Producers often use certain tactics to make their products seem more promising than they actually are (using famous body builders for branding, patent pending technology, etc.) Note than these are marketing gimmicks to persuade clients, and usually nothing more than that. So don’t fall for these tactics. The only thing this usually guarantees is that the price is higher than for competing and equally good products.

A good weight gainer should, in my opinion, contain a mixture of high-quality protein, carbs and fat, and that’s it (but there are other things to keep in mind too - read this post on 20 points to consider when looking to purchase your protein powder). However, lots of companies tend to stuff weight gainers with additional ingredients, such as various vitamins, creatines, etc. I prefer to keep these things separate. I take a shake of weight gainer to get a lot of calories in the right combination of protein, carbs and fat, and not to get my daily dose of vitamins. When weight gainers are stuffed with other nutritional ingredients, it makes it much more difficult to dose correctly, which I don’t really won’t to worry about. Because of this, the best weight gainer for me, is one that has the perfect combination as mentioned above, with quality nutritional ingredients for a low price, preferably without additional nutritional ingredients? You don’t have to agree with my point of view on this, but now you know when value when you read the notes below.

Weight gainers are a mixture of proteins, carbohydrates and fat that comes in a powder form, and is usually mixed with water or milk before consumption (some people use it for baking as well). Weight gainers allow people who are looking to gain weight, to consume a high level of calories, easily, convenient and fast.

Weight gainers are manufactured from natural ingredients (in majority of cases – especially high protein animal products such as eggs), which are mixed in the desired quantities, by the manufactures – and although there is a rule of thumb as to how many grams carbs, proteins and fat you can find in a typical serving of weight gainer, it does vary greatly. As people who use weight gainers usually do so in order, you guessed it, gain weight, they tend to use them in combination with a normal diet. This will, for most people, lead to a daily calorie surplus, meaning the person will gain weight. If this is combined with a solid workout routine, that person will gain muscle mass (and depending on the level of calorie surplus, intensity of workout, and a couple of other factors, you are likely to gain some body fat as well)

Best Weight Gainer Based on…

Before we continue on to the complete list with all the different mass gainers, I will be highlighting the best weight gainers in this section, based on, best price per serving, most protein per serving, most calories per serving, and so forth. Here goes. But before I get to the different measures, let me highlight my personal favorite – a brilliant mass gainer which I think is the best in it’s group, and one which I highly recommend.

The Best Weight Gainer - Period

[wpsm_numhead num=”1″ style=”3″ heading=”3″]Pro Complex Gainer from Optimum[/wpsm_numhead]

It’s no secret I usually prefer to go with protein powder rather than using a mass gainer. However, if the goal is gaining weight, and doing so fast, weight gainers will help speed up the process (but keep in mind you will be adding more than just muscle mass to your body..). So when the decision falls on weight gainers, I personally think Pro Complex Gainer from Optimum is the best weight gainer.

Pro Complex Gainer comes with 60 grams of protein per serving, which is more than what majority of the other mass gainers offer. This is the primary reason why I really like Pro Complex Gainer. In addition to this, it is packed with 85 grams of carbs, 8 grams of fat and a total of 650 calories per serving!

The price per serving is somewhere in the middle range, but the supplement facts are good and that’s what matters!

The Best Weight Gainer based on Price Per Serving is..

[wpsm_numhead num=”2″ style=”3″ heading=”3″]King Mass from Ronnie Coleman Signature Series[/wpsm_numhead]

As you will see from the complete table below, the price per serving for a mass gainer varies greatly! The cheapest option of the ones I have covered so far here on this page, is Carbo Gain from NOW (keep in mind I continue to add more and more mass gainers to this page so this section will be updated and changed when needed) where one serving will cost you $0.40! That sure is cheap, but there is a good reason – as the name implies, this weight gainer is solely based on carbs.

Needless to say that with no protein it’s easy to keep the price low. But for bodybuilders wondering how to gain weight fast, this is probably now what you are looking for.

You want a true Mass gainer, that will let you gain weight fast, but where most of it comes from increased muscle mass. So let’s move on to the second best option on the list: King Mass from Ronnie Coleman Signature Series which will get you a serving for just $1.16! A serving of King Mass will give you 30 grams of protein, 90 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fat and a total of 500 calories. Oh and it has been rated 9.2 out of 10 on bodybuilding.com and 8.2 on supplementreviews.com. King Mass is a solid and cheap choice when you are looking to get a quality mass gainer.

Best Weight Gainer based on Most Calories per Serving is..

[wpsm_numhead num=”3″ style=”3″ heading=”3″]Serious Mass from Optimum[/wpsm_numhead]

Optimum is one of the best-rated companies when it comes to protein powders and weight gainers. For months I have been posting the top ten best-rated protein powders and weight gainers as listed on supplementreviews, and Optimum continues to dominate the list. Not only do they, month after month, hold spot number one on both lists, but it is also the company with most listings in each top ten. Serious Mass is the best choice for the ones looking for a mass gainer that packs a serious amount of calories.

The popular mass gainer Serious Mass from Optimum will give you a total of 1,270 calories per serving! The is the highest calorie count per serving on any of all the weight gainers listed here on this page.

The 1,270 calories is based on a total of 50 grams of protein, 249 grams of carbs and 7 grams of fat. One serving of Serious Mass will cost you a total of $3.02 which seems to be more than fair if lots of calories is your thing!

Best Weight Gainer based on Most Protein per Serving is..

[wpsm_numhead num=”4″ style=”3″ heading=”3″]ISO-Mass Xtreme Gainer from Ultimate[/wpsm_numhead]

This weight gainer is the one with the most protein per serving, of all the ones I have listed on this page (so far).

ISO-Mass Xtreme Gainer comes with a massive 65 grams of protein per serinvg. In addition to this, it’s packed with 80 gram carbs and 7 grams of fat. It will give you a total of 650 calories per serving, and comes at a price per serving of $2.66.

ISO-Mass Xtreme Gainer is a popular choice for people looking to gain weight while keeping a focus on the protein content.

Best Weight Gainer - The Complete List

All right so with this short introduction to weight gainers, lets cut to the chase, by looking more specifically at a range of different weight gainers. If you want to know more general information about weight gainers, make sure to read this post. Here I talk about who should use weight gainers, why they should use them, what to keep in mind before you start using them, etc. But this page, is about finding the best weight gainer, so lets get to it.

Note that I am NOT a doctor. I have NOT tested all the weight gainers listed below, and I cannot and will not guarantee for the effectiveness or safety of the products listed below! Formulas are changed constantly, and some products might be illegal in your country. Because of this, make sure to do your own due diligence before you order or buy any supplements listed here on this site (or any other site for that matter).

Stealth - VPX (DISCONTINUED)

This weight gainer is described by the manufacturer as an Intense Weight Gainer. It is a muscle-building supplement made from highly potent whey protein. Created by VPX, Stealth contains a potent combination of proteins, carbs, and fats meant to stimulate muscle growth for a chiseled muscular look.

Each 150-gram serving of Stealth contains 48 g of protein, 82 g of carbs, 6 g of fat and 575 calories. The protein content in a single serving represents 96% of the recommended daily intake for someone who needs to consume a 2,000-calorie diet.

VPX- Stealth contains both natural and artificial flavors, which give this supplement a distinctive chocolate flavor.

Each container of Stealth weighs 5 pounds and costs $40.93 on bodybuilding.com. Considering that each serving weighs 150 g, then each 5-pound container of VPX – Stealth can provide 15 servings. This brings the price per each serving of VPX – Stealth to $2.73 ($40.93 divided by 15).

Stealth has a respectable 8.7 score out of 10 on bodybuilding.com. This rating falls in the Excellent category. Supplementreviews.com ranks Stealth sixth in a list of 31 weight gainers with an overall score of 8.2 and a rating of 8.4 and 7.6 on effectiveness and value respectively.

Stealth has a host of other ingredients. Some of the major ones include cholesterol, Sodium, Potassium, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Phosphorous, Magnesium, and Iodine. Stealth also contains Creatine Monohydrate, Taurine, Beta-Alanine, Chelate, which assist in lean mass amplification.

Stealth is a solid weight gainer. The price per serving may be a bit on the high side, but the supplement will definitely get the job done. For anyone serious about gaining muscle mass, VPX – Stealth is definitely worth serious consideration. Unfortunately, I cannot find Stealth for sale on Amazon, bodybuilding.com or allstarhealt and it also seems to be gone from VPX’s own website. I think that Giant Gains has replaced this product. More on Giant Gains below.

Pro Complex Gainer - Optimum Nutrition

This is a weight gainer that is manufactured by Optimum Nutrition (in the US). It is sold in most online stores including bodybuilding.com and Amazon. Pro Complex Gainer comes loaded with everything you need to start gaining weight – the specifics are highlighted below.

It is recommended by Optimum for use between meals and immediately after intensive workouts.Pro Complex Gainer contains seven major protein ingredients, which are: whey protein isolate and concentrate, egg albumen, calcium caseinate, glutamine and hydrolyzed whey peptides and maltodextrin. It also contains many other nonprotein ingredients which include processed cocoa, sunflower oil, Vitamin A palmitate and Folic acid along with many other ingredients.

In total, it has seven protein sources, 24 vitamins and a number of carbohydrates and fiber ingredients. This weight gainer gives the user a whole 650 calories per serving, where 70 of those are from fat. Nutrition wise, each serving will give you a total of 60 grams of protein, 8 grams of fat and 85 gram carbs. Complex Gainer Pro comes in the following flavors:

Banana Cream Pie
Double Chocolate
Strawberry Cream
Vanilla Custard

The average price per serving is $2.5, which is in the middle range when compared to other weight gainers with same level of protein, carbs and fat. From a price per calorie perspective, Pro Complex Gainer is above the average, but not close to the top.

Pro Complex Gainer has as of today received a total score of 9.4 out of 10 on bodybuilding.com making it one of the absolute top rated weight gainers on the site. The rating as the number 1 weight gainer on SupplementsReview, which currently reads 9.1 out of 10, further proves the quality of this product.

Although the product does contain other ingredients than the key 3; carbs, protein and fat, its still seems like a good choice., specially considering the rating on Supplementsreview. The amount of say vitamins and minerals are fairly low, meaning that you can double the servings for a day if you feel like it, without worrying too much about too many vitamins.

Serious Mass - Optimum Nutrition

Serious Mass is the name of another weight gainer, manufactured by Optimum Nutrition and sold and shipped by Amazon, Bodybuilding.com and the other usual vendors.

One serving of Serious Mass gives you a total of 1,250 calories! These calories come from a combination of 4.5 grams fat, 252 grams of carbohydrates and 50 grams of protein. 1,250 calories from one serving is massive, and two servings a day would give the average person his daily needed amount of calories (without any additional meals, that is).

Serious Mass from Optimum Nutrition is sold with the following flavors; banana, Chocolate Peanut Butter, chocolate, strawberry and Vanilla, where chocolate has received the highest rating, flavor wise.

In addition to the above-listed essential weight gainer ingredients, Serious Mass also contains creatine, glutamine, and glutamic Acid, and a total of 25 different vitamins and essential minerals. In terms of protein content, the product has a proprietary protein blend which consists of egg albumen, whey protein concentrate, dairy whey and calcium caseinate. Other ingredients include dicalcium phosphate, riboflavin, calcium citrate and manganese amino acids, just to name a few.

The product comes in the following different jar sizes: 3 pounds, 6 pounds and 12 pound. The flipside to the massive amount of calories per serving is; A jar with 3 pounds of Serious Mass will give you a total of 4 servings, and at a price of $20 for a 3 pound jar, you pay $5 per serving! Note that this is only if you chose to go with the 3 pound jar. For double the size (6 pound jar, just in case you were wondering), the price is hovering just around $27 from the cheapest vendors. Hence the price per serving is dropped down to just around $3.4, and it declines even more if you go with the 12 pound jar.

The overall rating for Optimum Nutrition’s Serious Mass on Bodybuilding.com is 8.4 and 8.2 on Supplementreviews.

Its pricy. If we take the 6 pound jar as an example, the prices range from $27 to $37. You can get it on Amazon for $27.74 which is close to the cheapest option, since you can get free shipping if you order for more than $35. The price per serving is in the higher end of the range, but the amount of calories you get from one serving is massive. The name is a good reflection of this product. This should be used by those looking to gain serious mass, specially considering the amount of calories contained in this product. The price per serving is in the higher end of the range. As you know I prefer weight gainers without additional stuff like creatine and the likes. I do however, still think this is a really good product, for those looking to gain a lot of weight. I would say this is more for the guy who really has trouble putting on any weight compared to the average guy, looking to gain muscle mass.

King Mass XL - Ronnie Coleman Signature Series

King Mass XL is manufactured by, yep – you guessed it; Ronnie Coleman Signature Series. The product comes from the one and only Ronnie Coleman (just in case you don’t know; he is the guy who holds eight straight wins as Mr. Olympia). Needless to say that the guy clearly knows how to gain weight, although the recipe might include more than just weight gainers.

Anyhow, he is a well-known name in the bodybuilding industry, and his brand is actually getting some good reviews. Let’s take a closer look at King Mass XL.

One serving of Ronnie Coleman’s King Mass XL will give you a total of 500 calories coming from 2 grams of fat, 90 grams of carbohydrates and 30 grams of protein. The carbs is listed as Coleman Sustained Delivery Energy Matrix and contains combines the following: Maltodextrin, Fructose and Waxy Maize. The protein matrix contains Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate and Micellar Casein. In addition to this, King Mass is stuffed with a bunch of other nutrients, including; L-Glycine, Creatine Monohydrate, L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, Xanthan Gum, Cellulose Gum and Carrageenan.

King Mass XL comes with the following three different flavors; Dark chocolate, strawberry milkshake and vanilla ice cream, and is sold in jars of 6 and 15 pounds. A 6 pound jar will give you close to a total of 27 servings, for a price of $39, giving us a price per serving of $1.4 which is definitely in the lower end of the range!

King Mass from Ronnie Coleman has received an overall rating of 9.2 based on 19 ratings on bodybuilding.com and came in with a lower score of 8.2 on SupplementReviews based on 9 review.

The name on the label is no stranger to this industry. He clearly know what it takes to gain weight, and from the looks of it, the profile of King Mass does look fairly good. What mostly stands out, is the price per serving, which seems to be more than fair. The reviews on other sites highlight this as well – value for money and flavor are key benefits of King Mass. Based solely on the price, you might think of it as a discount gainer, with a lack of quality nutrients – however, I don’t think it is. I think this is a really good bet, for those who look for a cheaper option, but don’t want to compromise with quality.

Cyto Gainer - CytoSport

Using a unique formula of high quality protein, carbs and creatine, CytoGainer is a powerful mass gainer for those who have difficulty in gaining muscle and size – regardless of how many hours they spend in the gym. The product is easy to consume, mixes well and comes six different flavors.

CytoGainer from Cytosport has 27 grams of protein and 38 grams of carbohydrates for every 75 gram serving. Just mix two scoops (scoop provided) with water and consume. There’s plenty of choices when it comes to flavor – the weight gainer is available in banana creme, chocolate malt, chocolate mint, cookies and cream, strawberries and cream, and vanilla.

Unlike many other weight gainers on the market, the product only contains 2.5 grams of fat per serving, making it ideal for anyone who wants to gain mass without putting on excess fat. In addition, Cytosport – CytoGainer contains 1.5 grams of creatine per serving. Whilst this isn’t a lot, the mass gainer can be used in conjunction with another creatine product for enhanced strength and muscle recovery after workouts.

Reviews of the product have generally been positive. CytoGainer has an average of 8.6 out of ten on Bodybuilding.com, based on 474 ratings. It also has an average rating of 8.3 out of ten on Supplementreviews.com, based on 65 in-depth reviews. The product is gluten free, and contains ingredients that have been derived from milk and soy. It also has added minerals and vitamins.

Overall, CytoGainer is a great weight gainer for those who want to put on some serious lean mass without any of the fat gain that can come from a high-calorie diet. The product packs a hefty punch when it comes to carbohydrate content per serving, although sugars are low – making this ideal for the health-conscious individual who wants to increase size slowly and improve their strength and endurance in the gym.

Elite Mass Gainer - Dymatize

The supplements available for bodybuilders and weightlifters tend to have hyperbolic names, and “Elite Mass Gainer” by Dymatize is no exception. According to the product reviews on bodybuilding websites, however, this is one product that does seem to live up to the promise of its name.

Every square inch of this stuff is packed with mass-assisting goodness. It has 55 grams of protein per serving – you’d have to eat two-and-a-half beef fillet steaks to get the same result. Per serving, it has 77g of carbs, 6g of fat and 600 calories. It comes in a wide variety of different flavors, including vanilla milkshake, double chocolate, strawberries & cream, and banana.

Time to work out the price per serving. Shopping around for the lowest price, one seller was offering a six pound pack for $56.77. Six pounds is equal to eighteen servings, so that’s $3.15 a serving.

Over at bodybuilding.com, they love this stuff, with an average rating of 9 out of 10. Combing through the reviews you can see praise for its low sugar content, low price, delicious flavor and the fact that it doesn’t get thick. But the most enthusiastic praise of all is a simple declaration of its efficacy – “It worked, I gained weight.” The complaints among the community there seemed only superficial, like the cheap-looking packaging. Meanwhile, the users at supplementreview.com gave them a similar 8.2/10 rating, with almost universal praise across the board.

In addition to its protein and carbs, Elite Mass Gainer includes a huge amount of vitamins, including vitamin b6, b12, magnesium, zinc, calcium, thiamin, riboflavin and calcium. It also features creatine and other minerals.

To put it simply, this product is hot to trot. If the word of online reviewers is to be trusted, this stuff really works. With a high protein and carbohydrate content, a low price-per-serving, a delicious taste, low sugar content and obvious efficacy, Elite Mass Gainer could not come more highly recommended.

Extreme XXL - American Body Building

A Quick Review of American Body Building – Extreme XXL: Bulking up and gaining weight is not as easy as it sounds- especially if you’re a naturally skinny guy. Most people just can’t gorge down that many calories in one day, while some simply can’t make room in their monthly budget for all that extra food.

Enter American Body Building – Extreme XXL. As the name suggests, this protein powder / weight gainer can make your body XXL-sized in just a short period. Common knowledge dictates that, in the world of body building, you need to eat a lot to gain a lot- but this is not the case if you have ABB’s Extreme XXL on your side.

One serving gives users a tremendous amount of calories- 1060 of them to be exact. People can add in more calories by mixing the product with milk or their favorite beverage. One serving also gives 214 gram of carbs, 40 grams of protein, 4g of fat, plus tons of vitamins and minerals that body builders need for healthier weight gain. It has vitamins, A, B12, C, D, and E, calcium, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, magnesium, and potassium. Extreme XXL also contains creatinine and glutamine.

Most online stores stock the 6 lbs (2.8 kg) tub of Extreme XXL, priced around $32. This means that one serving runs around $3.5 (one serving is equivalent to 283 grams, or four rounded scoops of the product). American Body Building – Extreme XXL is available in vanilla and chocolate flavors.

As for the public feedback, most of it are positive. Reviewees at supplementreviews.com gave Extreme XXL a 7.7/10 rating; meanwhile no negative reviews have been reported at bodybuilding.com. People seem to praise the mixability of the product, as well as the fact that you get a lot of calories for so little a price.

Extreme XXL is highly recommended for those who fully want to realize their muscle building potential. It tastes great, and you’ll get superior calories and nutrients without breaking your wallet.

Quick Mass Loaded - AllMax Nutrition

The creator of AllMax – QuickMass, AllMax Nutrition, claims that this muscle building supplement can help its users pack more muscle within a short span of time. This has definitely turned out to be the absolute truth for many fitness buffs who have tried out this weight gain supplement.

Proteins, Carbs, Fat, and Calories per Serving
Each serving of QuickMass contains 60 g of proteins, 161 g of carbs, 14 g of fat, and 1010 calories. For a 2,000-calorie diet requirement, the protein in one serving of this supplement represents 120% of the recommended daily intake. QuickMass is available in four flavors, Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Strawberry Banana, and Vanilla.

A single serving of AllMax QuickMass weighs 255 grams. On the Bodybuilding.com site, QuickMass is available in containers of 10, 6, and 3.3 pounds. The prices are $69.99, $44.99, and $26.99 for the 10, 6, and 3.3-pound containers respectively.

The 10-pound container’s deep discount obviously reduces its price per serving. This is why the larger, 10-pound container has a considerably lower price per serving of $3.89, while the 6-pound and 3.3-pound QuickMass containers will offer a price per serving of $4.50. This represents a 13.5% discount per serving for those who buy the larger container instead of the pricier smaller versions.

On Bodybuilding.com, AllMax – QuickMass has a rating of 8.9 out of 10, which falls in the “Excellent” category. On Supplementreviews.com, QuickMass has an overall rating of 8.0 at position 11, with an 8.1 rating on effectiveness and a 7.2 rating on value. The value rating is quite low, with only five other supplements from a list of 31 performing worse.

QuickMass contains several other ingredients, which include cholesterol, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Creatine Monohydrate, Cinnamon extract, and Protease. Additional ingredients include amino acids such as Glutamine, Aspartic Acid, Lysine, Leucine, and Proline among others. The supplement also has tocopherols, which are used to protect the flavors.

AllMax – QuickMass is without a doubt one of the most effective weight gainers out there. The only setback is the low score on value, although potential buyers can get a better deal when they go for the 10-pound container rather than the smaller 6-pound and 3.3-pound containers. Otherwise, AllMax – QuickMass is definitely a potent supplement for people wishing to increase lean muscle mass within a short span of time.

Super Mass Gainer - Body Fortress

Reviewing Body Fortress – Super Mass Gainer written by: Alex Pierce The Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer is an efficient protein powder supplement that’s been specifically designed to help ectomorphs put on solid, lean muscle while also gaining more endurance and strength. Due to its efficient blend of whey protein, BCAAs, and other vitamins and minerals that contribute to both muscle growth and recovery, the Super Mass Gainer from Body Fortress provides a great source of energy, as well as a powerful anti-catabolic effect that prevents protein breakdown.

Probably one of the most remarkable aspects about the Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer is the impressive amount of protein contained in a 4-scoop serving, which is 47 grams.

Not only is it nearly twice as much as the amount contained in other mass gainers, but it’s also more than sufficient to help bodybuilders and power lifters get meaty while boosting their workout performance substantially. The supplement is packed with 6 grams of fat, 98 grams of carbohydrates, and about 310 calories as well, which will be giving you enough energy to help you train better, and spend more time in the gym. However, you should expect this supplement to pack some extra pounds of fat as well, especially during the first two or three weeks of actively taking this supplement, to the point when you will finally be capable of adding more weight to the bar.

It’s important to keep in mind that every serving is loaded with 10 grams of BCAAs, including L-valine, L-leucine, and L-isoleucine, the three primary amino acids that help the muscles recover after an intense training routine. Vitamin C, an important anti-catabolic ingredient that prevents protein breakdown, as well as vitamins A, B, D, phosphor, iron, and other essential minerals are also part of the formula.

Though the Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer is available in both vanilla and chocolate flavors, the latter one is the most popular and best-sold amongst bodybuilders. This can be a shortcoming if you’re allergic to chocolate, or if you simply prefer another flavor, as very few retailers (if any at all) let you choose a different one other than chocolate. The protein powder can be easily mixed with milk, which increases the amount of protein your body takes in substantially, even though you will notice the texture to be a little lumpy, which can make it difficult to drink.

A 2.25-lb container of the Super Mass Gainer costs about $12.94, and has only 6 servings, which translates to approximately $2.15 per serving. For those who are willing to spend extra cash on a quality mass gainer, the Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer will most definitely be up to their expectations, though it can be extremely pricey for those who don’t have much room in their budget.

At the present time, the Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer averages a rating of 7.6 out of 10 stars on both BodyBuilding.com and SupplementReviews.com, topping more expensive products of the same kind.

Despite a couple of shortcomings, such as the huge amounts of carbohydrates, fat, and the lack of creatine monohydrate, the Body Fortress Super Mass Gainer remains a valuable mass gainer that provides visible results in up to one month after first using it. Although you should expect to gain a few pounds of fat, your body should pack substantial amounts of muscle shortly, and your gain and strength should be improved as well, giving you the opportunity to exceed your limits, and take your workout performance to the next level.

IncrediBULK - Pro Supps

Column 1

Reviewing Pro Supps – IncrediBULK written by: Alex Pierce The Pro Supps – IncrediBULK is a quality muscle growth supplement that provides bodybuilders with a substantial source of protein, offering a complex blend of amino acids that shortens recovery time while increasing muscle mass, endurance, and strength. Having been designed specifically for hard gainers, IncrediBULK features a creamy, non-lumpy texture, as well as several flavors one can choose from in order to make taking this supplement easier, efficient, and more enjoyable at the same time.

As one of the best-rated mass gainers on the market, the IncrediBULK from Pro Supps packs a muscle-building formula that is loaded with 56 grams of protein per serving.

Compared to other products of the same kind, IncrediBULK provides a more solid support for muscle growth, helping bodybuilders get bulky quicker, and also enabling them to gradually add more weight to the bar. In addition, there are 12 grams of fat, 320mg of carbohydrates, and 1340 calories, which boost your energy levels, permitting you to gain the necessary strength for lifting heavier weights, and more endurance for lengthening your workout routines. At the same time, the 12 grams of fat contained per a 3-scoop serving might lead to small fat gains, which can be easily controlled as long as you make sure to pair this protein powder supplement with enough training.

Besides protein, IncrediBULK contains important amino acids including L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine, and L-glycine, which promote muscle recovery, and improve protein synthesis, which is critical to building solid, lean muscle. To top that off, the supplement also comes with creatine monohydrate, an ingredient that is actively used in mass gainers to improve blood flow, and facilitate pumping. The only shortcoming of the formula is the lack of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which has a powerful anti-catabolic effect that can prevent protein breakdown, which typically occurs at the end of your workout routine.

A remarkable aspect about the Pro Supps IncrediBULK is the large number of flavors available, which include chocolate fudge cake, vanilla cake, peanut butter cookie, and cookies and cream. The flavor strength is only average, as they are not strong enough to really give you the impression that you are drinking a milkshake, but strong enough to make it pertinently tasty. As for the ease of mixing, this supplement features an extremely fine powder texture that gives the shake a creamier, non-lumpy texture, thus making it more enjoyable to drink.

Another potential drawback of the IncrediBULK is the expensiveness of the product, as a 6-pound container contains only 8 servings, and is priced at $42.74. This equals about $5.34 per serving, or $4.48 per serving if we talk about a 12-pound container, which has 16 servings, and costs $71.69. Although paying such huge amounts of money might seem unacceptable, the efficiency of Pro Supps’ IncrediBULK cannot be questioned, which makes every penny spent worth the investment.

Pro Supps – IncrediBULK averages a rating of 9.9 out of 10 stars on BodyBuilding.com, which makes it truly one of the best of its kind. In spite of a few negatives that are normal for all products, IncrediBULK delivers a consistent source of protein and energy to all bodybuilders who decide to give it a try, helping them get meaty and gain more strength a few weeks after first taking it. Although it might be pricey, and fat gains unavoidable, your workout performance will be improved substantially over the time, thus allowing your body to pack on pounds of lean muscle, and helping you reach any training goal efficiently.

All Natural Gainer - MRM

A Quick Review of the MRM All Natural Gainer written by: alexis712 A huge percentage of the low-cost body gainers that are available on the market today are high on calories, yet terribly low on nutrients. While they do help in gaining weight, these gains are usually fat and not muscle. Most of them are also chock-full of artificial flavorings and chemicals that can be harmful to the body when taken in large amounts.

A quick read through the ingredients list of All Natural Gainer by MRM (Metabolic Response Modifiers) seems to show that the product is trying to buck the artificial trend in weight gainers. Instead of chemical sweeteners and other unnatural substances, All Natural Gainer uses only stevia and real vanilla / cocoa for flavoring.

Other natural ingredients include egg protein, calcium caseinate (derived from milk), Opti-Fat (Sunflower oil, Soy lecithin, Omega-3 Oil), and Fructose.

One serving of All Natural Gainer (three scoops of the powder mixed in with milk) gives around 520 calories, with 25 grams of protein, 49 grams of carbs, and 2 grams of dietary fiber. Users also get a healthy dose of both omega-3 and nitrozyme, an organic compound that aids in digestion.

MRM – All Natural Gainer comes in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla. The product usually comes in a 3.3 lb tub, which is roughly equivalent to around 12 servings. The price per tub usually hovers around $30 at most major online stores, making the price per serving somewhere around $2.5.

Public feedback for the MRM – All Natural Gainer has been overwhelmingly positive. The overall rating at bodybuilding.com is 9.5/10, with most users praising the All Natural Gainer’s taste (especially the chocolate flavor) as well as its low price. At supplementreviews.com, the product enjoys a 7.6/10 rating from a user, with particular emphasis placed on its “all natural” aspect.

Overall, the MRM – All Natural Gainer is a great product at a great price. Those who are worried about the huge amount of chemicals and artificial substances that can be found in other weight gainers, will find what they are looking for with this product.

Mass Gainer - SciVation

Mass Gainer from SciVation is a low glycemic lean gainer with added betaine, MCTs and Omega 3s. Opposite from the norm of typical weight gainers, Mass Gainer is not based on maltodextrin or other insulin spiking nutrients, but brown rice, meaning the sugar level is down to a minimum. The first impression of this might be positive from a health perspective, but the flipside to this is that insulin is highly anabolic and crucial for gaining muscle mass.

The product is not listed on SciVation’s homepage anymore and has also been discontinued on bodybuilding.com and Amazon. I have seen it in a couple of local stores, but chances are that these are part of the last batch. So if you want to get a final hit of mass gainer, make sure to purchase one at your local store, if they still carry it.

We probably won’t see this around for much longer. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t cover the details of mass gainer. Here goes:

Three scoops of SciVation’s Mass Gainer equals one serving and contains a total of 410 calories. These 410 calories comes from a mix of:
52 grams of carbohydrates
8 grams of fat
33 grams of protein
The total calories count might be a bit on the low side, which is due to the low level of carbs per serving.

In addition to this, Mass Gainer comes with the following nutrients
Calcium
Iron
Magnesium
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT)
Betaine (as Betaine Anhydrous)

As the product has been discontinued at most vendors, its difficult to tell exactly which flavors you could get Mass Gainer with, based on what I can find, it seems like it was available in Vanilla sugar Cookie and Chocolate Dream.

The prices I have seen for this product is just around $50 – $52 for a container with 4.63 Lbs. estimated to give you 20 servings, meaning that the cost per serving comes close to $2.5 – Its not the most expensive I have seen, but you look at the “Price per Cal.”, its definitely in the higher end of the range. However, it can be argued that Mass Gainer might have a higher range of quality nutrients compared to other products, specially on the Carb. side of things. However, I am not sure this is what most people are looking for, in a weight gainer.

Mass Gainer has received positive reviews on both BodyBuilding.com and SupplementReviews.com. On BB Mass Gainer currently has an average rating of 8.7 out of 10, based on a total of ten reviews. On SR Mass Gainer has an average of 8.0 out of 10; the figure for SR is solely based on two reviews, so we shouldn’t read too much from this number.

First of all, it will be difficult to get your hands on this product as it seems to have been discontinued most places. Should you be able to find it on the shelf at your local supplement store, it might just be your last chance to give Mass Gainer a go. The price per serving is fair, but from a calorie perspective, it fall in the more expensive end of the range. Healthy and non-insulin spiking carbs might seem good but its probably not what you are looking for in a weight gainer – I would say it comes down to when you use it. As a post-work out shake, I would prefer to have some insulin spiking carbs, but as a meal replacement shake, its probably a good choice.

After Shock Critical Mass - Myogenix

Myogenix – After Shock Critical Mass is an affordable and effective bodybuilding supplement that has been designed for hard gainers, as well as other individuals who have a hard time putting on solid, lean muscle. Loaded with Critical Mass Carbohydrates that boost energy levels and amplify strength and endurance, this mass gainer provides easy-digesting protein that prevents huge insulin responses from your body, ensuring you of optimum muscle growth and pumping to help you reach your workout goals.

Improved Muscle-Building Formulation
Probably one of the most important benefits of choosing the After Shock Critical Mass is the improved muscle-building formulation it features, which contains 52 grams of protein per serving, topping several more expensive products available on the market.

Not only will this ensure you of a more solid support for muscle growth, but it will also enable you to put on lean muscle in a shorter time. Furthermore, the product comes with Critical Mass Carbohydrates that are quickly absorbed and used by your body during workout, boosting your energy levels substantially while also amplifying strength and endurance. As such, bodybuilders should be able to quickly add more weight to the bar, thus strengthening their core. Myogenix – After Shock Critical Mass is also packed with 16 grams of fat, 85 grams of carbohydrates, and 690 calories, which offer enough energy to help you gradually add more weight to the bar, and gain the endurance needed for your workout routines to be longer. At the same time, the 16 grams of fat contained in a serving will cause your body to gain some extra pounds of fat, which can be quickly diminished once you manage to lift heavier weights. Magnesium creatine celate is also part of the formulation, which can improve blood flow substantially, giving Myogenix’s protein powder supplement a powerful pumping effect. As such, bodybuilders will be able to successfully increase muscle mass with every lift, managing to achieve any goal. The only shortcoming of the product is the lack of BCAAs, which reduce its ability to promote healthy muscle recovery.

Although not many, there are several flavors that come with the Myogenix – After Shock Critical Mass, including vanilla milkshake, chocolate milkshake, and cookies & cream. Although the flavor strength itself is good, you can expect the texture to be very lumpy even when you mix the protein powder with milk, which normally gives the shake a creamier feel. This can make drinking the supplement less enjoyable, especially if you are picky, and cannot stand those annoying lumps that form even when you use an electric mixer to properly blend the two ingredients.

Another important advantage of choosing After Shock Critical Mass over other products of its kind is the cheaper price, as a 5.62-lb container comes with 15 servings at the price value of $46.49, or $3.09 per serving. Not only will you be able to take in 52 grams of protein with every serving, but you will also be paying a lower price, meaning that you will never have to go over your budget.

As a matter of fact, Myogenix After Shock Critical Mass has been very positively reviewed until the present time, averaging a rating of 7.6 out of 10 stars at BodyBuilding.com, and 7.7 stars at SupplementReviews.com.
In spite of the lumpy texture and lack of recovery-promoting amino acids, Myogenix – After Shock Critical Mass remains a good protein powder supplement with efficient muscle-building properties that can help even ectomorphs put on solid, lean muscle in a much shorter time. Besides the impressive amounts of nutrients including protein, the product is a lot cheaper, thus being an excellent deal for those bodybuilders who are looking for a good price-to-quality ratio.

Mass XXX - GNC

GNC’s line of weight-gain supplements, Mass XXX, can be a relatively low-cost option for any bodybuilder looking for gains. It’s a traditional mix of whey, casein and soy-isolate proteins, along with triglycerides for fat and a punch of sucralose for sweetness. In fact, GNC’s addition of sucralose has made Mass XXX one of the better-tasting mass building supplements on the market, but how does it stack up to the competition when it comes to actual performance?

One thing to keep in mind is that, without a GNC membership, Mass XXX is actually pretty expensive. It comes in at over $5 per serving unless you sign up with them, at which point the price drops to a more reasonable $3.20 for four scoops. At 50g of protein, it does pack quite a bit, although some powders on the market manage to add more. Mass XXX also has 6g of fat, 120g of carbs, 4g of fiber and comes in at 960 calories per serving, dry. Adding a bit of 2% milk will boost the nutrition values some, but in regards to the straight-up numbers GNC is pretty average.

GNC’s Mass XXX comes in two flavors, chocolate and vanilla shake, and both of them tend to be sweet and taste better than average. Bodybuilding.com doesn’t currently have a review of Mass XXX, but sister site supplementreviews.com gives GNC’s Mass XXX a 7.7/10 and praises its flavor, texture and ease of mixing. Some bodybuilders might be a bit put off by the addition of sucralose, which can be controversial, but in general it seems to improve the flavor of this particular powder.

The bottom line, though, is that Mass XXX is widely critisized as being just an average product. Anyone with a GNC membership will be able to take advantage of a big break in the price, but for everyone else it’s an expensive weight-gain supplement. But f you’ve tried other products and you just can’t stomach the flavor, then Mass XXX might be just what you need.

All in all, Carnivor Mass created by MuscleMeds is a good supplement for people interested on increasing their weight and building their muscles fast. It has been proven to be effective based from the many reviews and ratings provided online for the product. Although there are many other products for food supplements, Carnivor Mass is indeed a sure and better way to help build muscles fast.

OhYeah! Total MASS System - ISS Research

ISS Research is the name of the company behind the popular weight gainer called OhYeah! Total Mass System, according to bodybuilding.com. However, when looking closer, it seems like the company is named OhYeah! and the product is called Total Mass System. When searching google for ISS Research, the first result brings me to a website, which looks entirely different from the OhYeah! Brand – and there is no Total Mass System for sale on that site. Anyhow, lets cut to the chase. Here goes; Total MASS System sets itself apart from the crowd by giving a complete nutritional package aside from the usual carbs and protein. The main aspect that makes Total Mass System stand aside is the low-fat content along with reduced levels of sodium and sugar. In addition to this, Total Mass System is gluten free.

One serving of Total Mass System will give you a total of 710 calories, which is coming from a combination of; 40 grams of protein, 120 grams of cabohydrates and 6 grams of fat. The Weight Gainer comes in a 5.95 Lbs. sized jar, and in the following flavors; Chocolate Milkshake, Cookies & Creme, Strawberries & Creme and Vanilla Creme. One jar of 5.95 Lbs. will give you a total of 15 servings, and cost you a total of close to $40 meaning that a price per serving of Total Mass System comes out at $2.67.

OhYeah! Total Mass System comes with a bunch of bunch of additional nutrients such as various vitamins and minerals; Vitamin A (As Acetate), Vitamin D (As Cholecalciferol), Vitamin E (As DL-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate), Thiamin (As Thiamine Hydrochloride), Riboflavin, Niacin (As Niacinamide), Iron (As Ferrous Sulfate) and Zinc just to name a few. It also comes with two prop. blends, containing nutrients such as; Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Streptococcus Thermophiles, Lactobacillus Brevis, Containing: Amylase, Protease Blend (I, II, And III), Lipase, Lactase, HemiSEB® Cellulase, Maltase, Invertase and Bromelain. OhYeah! Total Mass System comes in four flavors; Chocolate Milkshake, Vanilla Creme, Strawberries and Creme and finally, Cookies and Creme.

OhYeah! argue that Total Mass System is advancing “beyond the simple calorie” by implementing mixed carbs, BCAA’s, and micronutrients that the body needs for supporting muscle growth and maintenance.

OhYeah! Total Mass System is in the top of the league, rating-wise on bodybuilding.com where the weight gainer is listed with a score of 9.8 out of 10. Keep in mind, however, that this is based on a total of eight reviews. Unfortunately, this weight gainer does not seem to be listed on SupplementReviews.

This is coming in as a good product at a reasonable price. The price per calories is definitely fair. Based on reviews, I would probably be a bit leery with this product. The amount of ratings on BB vs. the actual rating smells a bit like fake / paid reviews. In addition to this, there is no reviews on SR, and I am a bit puzzled by company name and relation to ISS; anyhow, this is no indication of the quality of Total Mass System. My guess it, its a pretty good product at a reasonable price.

Carbo Gain - NOW

Now is the named of the company behind Carbo Gain. A supplement containing only carbs, but complex ones (100 percent pure maltodextrin sourced from corn starch) providing the body with a slow release, long-lasting energy. Although Now’s Carbo Gain isn’t your usual type of Weight Gainer, the supplement might do good just before a workout routine, to get your energy leves up. Carbo Gain is made to improve endurance during workouts and support weight gain.

Carbo Gain comes in a 8 and a 12 pound sized jar, and can only be bought unflavored. One serving of Carbo gain contains a total of 63 grams of carbohydrates and will give you a total of 250 calories.

One 8 pound jar will give you a total of 54 servings for the price of $23, meaning that the cost per serving comes out at $.043. This is clearly the lowest price per serving seen compared to all other weight gainers listed on this site, but keep in mind that this is due to the nutrients used in the product; only carbs, and no proteins nor fat.

Carbo Gain from Now has received a rating of 8.1 out of 10 on SupplementReview based on a total of 8 reviews and a rating of 8.7 on BB based on a total of 72 reviews.

If you are looking to gain muscles, this is not the product you are looking for, as it doesn’t contain any proteins whatsoever. I might be a good and cheap option for some pre-workout carb-kind-of-energy. Its also has some weight gaining potential for those of you who actually have difficulties putting on weight, regardless of this being muscles or fat. I would never take this route, as I only look to gain weight in the form of muscle mass; something Carbo Gain won’t help me accomplish.

ISO-Mass Xtreme Gainer - Ultimate

Iso Mass Xtreme Gainer from Ultimate Nutrition is the next on our list of weight gainers. Ultimate Nutrition has been around for a long time and have made a dozen different supplements throughout the years. According to their website, Ultimate Nutrition was founded in 1979 by Victor H. Rubino – one of the top amateur power lifters in US. Anyhow, in this section I will discuss the specifics of their weight gainer ISO Mass Extreme Gainer, so enough about the company. Here goes;

A serving of Ultimate Nutrition’s ISO Mass Xtreme Gainer weighs 153 gram. This comes from a combination of 65 grams of protein, 80 grams of carbohydrates while fat accounts for 7 gram. With these nutrients, one serving of iso Mass Xtreme Gainer will give you a total of 650 calories.

Ultimate Nutritions iso Mass Xtreme Gainer comes with the following falvors; Chocolate Milk, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream, Soft Vanilla Ice and Strawberry Milkshake. In addition to the above listed proteins, carbs and fats, the weigh gainer also contains a mixed bag of vitamins, minerals, and a couple of other nutrients such as; Creatine Monohydrate, Tricreatine Malate, Kre-Alkalyn®, Creatine Orotate, Creatine Alpha Ketoglutarate, Creatine Ethyl Ester, Creatine Pyruvate, Vitamin A Acetate, Cholecalciferol, D-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Folate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Cyanocobalamin, Biotin, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Potassium Iodide, Potassium Chloride, Ferrous Fumarate, Magnesium Oxide, Copper Gluconate, Zinc Oxide and Chromium Nicotinate. There is more to it than this. Head over to the website to see the exact details if needed.

Iso Mass Xtreme Gainer is sold in a 10.11 sized jar for the price of 80, and this will give you a total of 30 servings, meaning that the price per serving comes to $2.60 – a very average price per serving point.

The weight gainer got an excellent rating on bodybuilding.com of 8.8 based on 266 reviews and comes in a bit worse on SR with an average rating of 7.8 based on 56 reviews.

Verdict
The rating on BB is good and should be deemed reliable due to the amount of reviews for the product. Ultimate Nutrition has been in this industry for a long time, which adds to the credibility in my book. The price point is mediocre and doesnt justify a purchase if based solely on this. But when looking at additional nutrients in iso-mass xtreme gainer, the history of the company behind and the amount of positive reviews of the product, it might be a very good choice for the muscle builder looking for a weight gainer with a modest level of calories making it easier to adjust accordingly compared to the ones containing more than 1,000 calories per serving.

Real Gains - Universal

You have probably seen this one online a couple of times – the big bucket that looks a bit different from the rest – somehow a bit more massive, where the name is written with huge letters so nobody is left in the dark, as to what this weight gainer will do to you.

The name is Real Gains, and the company behind it is Universal Nutrition. They have been in business since 1977 and although I don’t think their logo has changed much throughout the years, they do carry a rather impressive line of different supplements. For now, I will look closer at the weight gainer they have named Real Gains. This weight gainer is infused with a good amount of protein, carbs, and fat, while keeping the sugar level low, the products has been receiving good reviews. Let’s take a closer look at the specifics;

One serving of Real Gains will give you a total of the following essential weight gainer nutrients; 52 grams of protein, 88 grams of carbohydrates and 5 grams of fat. This combination amounts to a total of 605 calories per serving. A very standard serving size for a normal weight gainer.

Real Gains comes in the following different flavors; Banana Ice Cream, Chocolate Ice Cream, Cookies & Cream, Strawberry Ice Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream. What I truly like about this weight gainer is that it doesn’t come with a bunch of other nutrients. The list of additional nutrients is very limited, meaning that it is easy to adjust serving size to personal preferences, and you know what you pay for. Here is the complete list of other ingredients which includes the sources of the proteins, carbs and fat; Maltodextrin, Real Gains Protein Complex™ (Ultra Filtrated Whey (Milk) Concentrate, Micellar Casein, Whey Protein Isolate), Inulin, Flaxseed Oil, MCT, Calcium Caseinate, Natural And Artificial Flavor, Sodium Chloride, Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium.

Universal Nutrition – Real Gains can be purchased in three different jar sizes; 3.8, 6.85 and 10.6 Lbs. The 3.8 Lbs. Jar will give you a total of 11 servings, hence the price per serving is set to $2.18. This is in the lower end of the range, and it probably possible because the product only contains what you actually need, and isn’t filled with additional stuff like creatines, BCAA’s, etc.

From a ratings perspective, this weigh gainer is in the top of the league, and just like majority of all the weight gainers listed here, the BB rating is superior to the SR one. On BB, Universal Nutrition’s Real Gains received a total rating of 8.8 based on 292 reviews. On SR, the product is rated 7.8 based on 12 reviews.

This is, in my opinion, a really good choice when it comes to a proven weight gainer, where you know what you get and you get what you pay for. Real Gains doesn’t come with all the fancy stuff, but is cut down to the very essential, making it easy to adjust serving size according to personal preferences. It also means that the product is being sold at a fair price, which is in the lower end of the range, with lots and lots of positive reviews.

Extreme Gainer - Nutrabio

Nutrabio has been in business since 1996. According to their website they stand out from the mass, by:
-Never using proprietary blends & guaranteeing full label disclosure
-Banning all fillers, excipients, & additives from our products
-Guaranteeing full therapeutic dosages of every active ingredient
-Manufacturing our own products so we could control every aspect of quality.

They offer a wide range of different products, such as protein powders, fat loss supplements, and weight gainers. In this section, I will look specifically at their weight gainer; Extreme Mass.

Extremem Mass contains a total of 53 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat and 100 grams of carbohydrates. This adds up to a total of 650 calories per serving.

In addition to this, the weight gainer comes with a mixed bag of vitamins and minerals such as; vitamin A, C, D, E, K, B3, B6 and B12. Thiamin, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Biotin and Zinc. What is positive about Nutrabio’s Extreme mass is that everything is listed on the lable. There is no prop. blend. Extreme Mass is sold with the following flavors; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

Extremem Mass is sold in a 6 and 18 pound jar. The 6 pound jar comes at a price of $48 and gives you a total of 16 servings meaning that the price per serving comes at $3.

I cannot find the product listed on BB for some reason. It is listed on SR, but only with 1 review (and no overall score, due to a lack of reviews).

Verdict
Overall the looks like a fairly good product. It is very clear that Nutrabio focuses on honesty and quality as you can read the following on their website about this gainer;

Manufactured in the United States in our own FDA registered and inspected facility to meet FDA 21 CFR Part 111 c-GMP regulations.
Label Disclosure

Overall, the company seems trustworthy and Extreme Mass looks like a quality product with all the bells and whistles. It is however, a bit pricey compared to other weight gainers with similar nutrient profiles. There is a lack of reviews online and flavor wise, you are left with the classic three alternatives.

Real Mass - Gaspari Nutrition

Gaspari Nutrition is also a known name in the bodybuilding industry, often coming out with new products. If I remember correctly there have been some sketchy stories about this company in the past, spceially in relation to a PWO called Detonate, allegedly containing the same substance which made Crazy from DS so popular (which was a methamphetamine-like chemical), which naturally should make the alarm bells ring. Anyhow, for now, I will discuss the weight gainer Real Mass from Gaspari, which isn’t likely to contain any dangerous substances. Here goes;

Real Mass contains a total of; 50 grams of protein, 250 grams of carbs and 3.5 grams of fat. Due to the high carb level, one serving of Real Mass will give you a total of 1,230 calories.

In addition to this, the weight gainer contains several different vitamins and minerals such as; Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12 ,Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium and Molybdenum. Real Mass is sold with two flavors; Rich Vanilla Milkshake and Strawberry Milkshake.

Real Mass is sold in a 6 pound jar for a total of $29. Due to the high calorie count, one 6 pound jar of Real Mass will only give you a total of 8 servings, giving us a price per serving of $3.62 – This is in the higher end of the range, but so it the amount of calories per serving.

Real Mass from Gaspari Nutrition has received a total score of 4.7 on BB based on a total of 59 reviews. On SR, the overall score is 8.1 based on 22 reviews. This is the first time I see such a difference on a rating for the same product between these two sites.

Verdict
The price per serving is in the higher end of the range, but the same goes for the amount of calories per serving. The gainer does have a good profile, although the carb. figure is too high for my personal preference, and the same goes for the amount of calories per serving. This is for those of you who have trouble adding weight, and not just muscle mass, in my opinion. The story with Detonate as highlighted above, and the difference in the ratings on SR and BB maybe reasons to think twice before you get yourself a jar of Real Mass.
